Restart Redmine under Ubuntu/Linux

  1. Go to your Redmine directory, which probably is /user/share/redmine. That is: “cd /user/share/redmine”
  2. If no directory called “tmp” exist, create one:
    “mkdir tmp”
  3. Create/touch a file called restart.txt in the tmp directory:
    touch /tmp/restart.txt
  4. By “touching” restart.txt, Redmine will restart the next time you access Redmin from your web browser.
  5. Done!
